Ingredients
Scale
- 2 (21 ounce) cans strawberry pie filling
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 large egg
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 16 ounce box yellow cake mix
- 12 tablespoons salted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease the bottom of a 9×13" pan.
- Pour the two cans of strawberry pie filling into the bottom of the prepared pan.
- In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, egg, and granulated sugar until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Spoon this cheesecake filling on top of the strawberries.
- Spread the box of yellow cake mix evenly over the strawberries and cheesecake layer.
- Drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix, making sure to cover it well. Optionally, sprinkle nuts on top if you like.
- Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly. Allow to sit for 15 minutes before serving.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream if desired.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use a flavored cake mix instead of yellow.
Feel free to add fresh strawberries on top for extra texture and flavor.
Ensure the cream cheese is well-softened for easy mixing.
