Ingredients
Scale
- 16 rolls frozen dinner rolls or frozen bread dough
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ½ cup white sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¾ cup butter melted
- ½ cups walnuts optional
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 lemon freshly squeezed juice
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Prepare an 8×10 baking dish by buttering the sides and bottom.
- Thaw the frozen rolls and cut each roll in half.
- Melt the butter and mix the ground cinnamon, white sugar, and brown sugar together.
- Dip each roll half in the melted butter, then coat with the cinnamon sugar mixture. Arrange them in the prepared baking dish in a single layer without crowding.
- Sprinkle any remaining cinnamon sugar over the top and add walnuts if using.
- Cover the pan with plastic wrap or a tea towel and let it rise in a warm spot for 2-3 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Once risen, bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes until golden brown and thoroughly baked.
- For the glaze, mix together the powdered sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla extract, adding just enough lemon juice to achieve a drizzleable consistency. Drizzle over the baked cinnamon rolls.
Notes
Make sure to thaw the rolls completely before cutting them in half for easier handling.
Allow the rolls to rise until they’re well doubled in size for a light and fluffy texture.
