Ingredients
Scale
- 1-1.5 pound ground beef
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- 1 pound spaghetti noodles, 1 package
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 3 tbsp garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 can diced tomatoes, 14.5 oz.
- 3 cups water
- 1 jar spaghetti sauce, 24 oz
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Combine ground beef, egg, onion soup mix, and breadcrumbs to form the meatball mixture. Use a small cookie scoop to shape into balls.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and brown the meatballs for a few minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to soak up excess grease.
- Place uncooked spaghetti noodles in a 9×13 inch baking dish. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic, Italian seasoning, and salt.
- Pour on diced tomatoes, water, and 2 cups of spaghetti sauce. Arrange the browned meatballs on top, cover with the remaining sauce, and loosely cover with foil. Bake for 40 minutes.
- After 40 minutes, remove the foil, gently mix everything, and optionally top with parmesan cheese before serving.
- For a cheesy finish, sprinkle on 2 cups of mozzarella, return to the oven for an additional 8 minutes until melted, and then serve.
